junkhead is a new work in development. A reflection on the past few years of bodily and psychological experiences having lived in an ongoing sick-state brought on by a bacterial infection of Bartonella, a co-infection of Lyme disease, which create a handful of chronic physical and neurological symptoms. junkhead is created and performed by Alex Romania, in collaboration with composer and performer Emil Bognar-Nasdor.
Developments have been performed at Movement Research at the Judson Church, through Romania’s 2018-2020 Residency with Movement Research, as well as at the 2018 iteration of TTT - Taboo – Transgression – Transcendence in Art & Science conference and satellite performance art events in collaboration with Casa Viva and Grace Exhibition Space. junkhead will be performed as an evening length iteration at Brooklyn Studios for Dance in Spring 2019 as the culmination of a year long residency program with the organization.
